Customer Rating: Summary: Nice lift. Works as described. Comment: This is the best price on this product I could find (even the ususally dirt cheap Northern Tool catalog sells this for over $300 plus shipping!). Unit is plenty strong for me as I was just putting up 1/2 inch 8ft sheets. How it would do with a 12 ft 5/8 inch sheet I couldn't say. Three men could install drywall faster, but if there's no help, this thing is invaluable. A helper finessing the sheet into final position while you start a few screws would still be suggested.
Customer Rating: Summary: Although Bulky and Heavy, It Gets the Job Done Right Comment: If you're seriously considering hanging a drywall ceiling yourself and can't convince four strong friends to break their backs for pizza and beer--buy this tool. I recently bought a home with a totally unfinished 2-car garage. As I installed the wiring, windows, insulation, and walls I kept pondering "How in the world am I going to hang a drywall ceiling." After doing some research and talking with several tradesmen I decided to buy this tool. It basically allows one person to lift and hold an entire sheet of drywall (or paneling) on a ceiling or wall, then screw that sheet into place. Without using it, which I've done in the past, it took every bit of energy and every creative bad word I could muster to get the job done. This tool is strong and very well made, which makes it somewhat heavy to lift, but it comes on wheels. And with the legs extended it may be difficult to get into small spaces like most bathrooms or closets. However, it allowed me to do the job myself and save big bucks. No regrets on this purchase, although if doing it over I would probably get the less expensive model because I don't need the capability to reach 15 ft. ceilings.
Customer Rating: Summary: contractor Comment: made in china still means poor quality with no supervision .. after reading different reviews ..i said i'll try anything once.. product came quickly ..after that thats win the problems started the little pins that hold the extension rails fell out after 5 minutes .. had to hang rock on 12 foot ceiling, so i went to put extension piece on .. which was fine however the top of the lifts pin that goes in the hole, was larger than the opening so it wouldn't fit had to take it to the shop and grind it down so it would fit in the hole.. that being said.. maybe people should test there product before they put it on the boat and ship it..
Customer Rating: Summary: Great time saver. Shipping is a bit pricy. Comment: I used this to hang about 100 sheets of drywall in a new building, by myself. Great product ! Save loads of time and no sore back ! I had bought the extender also since I had 14' vaulted ceilings also, and this worked like a charm. I really like the fact that it can break down into 3 pieces for storage. I will also be using this for the new house we are building, so I will definitely get my money's worth on this purchase.
I was disappointed that the shipping was almost as much as the porduct. What's with that ?
Customer Rating: Summary: bent product , I'm not happy Comment: The ( wheel )/crank came bent , I'm not happy, The lift cable pull's to one side and the cable wind's tight to that side, making it impossiable to crank 12 feet high.I made contacted the company and they said they would send me a new one or my money back, but now my email has only returned when I said I would rather have my money back, or better product.I might give one more sheetrock lift a shot, if the company will only make contact with me. I may be forced to stop my credit card payment.
